A few principles to follow to protect our “defensive shield”
In autumn, as a general rule, we eat in moderation anything too fatty, too sweet or too concentrated (such as cow's milk cheeses or nut butters), and we favour steaming and soups, so that the Lung's diffusing functions are not hampered by mucus building up in the airways. The Lung needs lightness! The pungent flavour that corresponds to it will support it, such as ginger, raw onion, garlic or leek sprouts.
