Summer energy & the “Fire” personality

Summerthe Fire movement

Seasonal tips

Summer corresponds to the Fire movement; it is the season when Yang reaches its peak in nature. The summer solstice is the high point of this peak, because it is the longest day of the year.

Are you a “Fire” type?

Passionate by nature, the Fire type personality loves intimacy and communication. Charismatic, this is an intuitive, sentimental and empathetic person who loves to shine. This is a friend who brings joy to the people around them.

More yin or yang?

The Yang Fire Type can be agitated, overly enthusiastic and manic, logorrheic, socially and sexually hyperactive. The Fire type feels both a need for fusion and the fear of getting lost in it. They benefit from learning to preserve their energy and to avoid extremes.

The Yin Fire Type, on the other hand, can suffer from a feeling of loneliness, feel unloved or undeserving of love. They should work in a field that gives them pleasure and learn to express their feelings and their needs.

A balanced “Fire” type personality will find love within and let it be expressed all around, in calm and peace. Quick-witted, they are awake and happy, balancing spontaneity, contemplation, wisdom and sobriety.

A few seasonal tips to observe during summer..!

Beware of excess Yang foods such as alcohol, coffee, strong spices, red meat, cocoa, and cook in moderation on the barbecue and the grill, especially for people of the Yang “Fire” Type and in a heat wave.

Eat light and colourful, prefer seasonal fruits and vegetables that are red in colour and refreshing by nature, along with enough fluids (coconut water, for example, is very thirst-quenching, or room-temperature water + lime).

Be careful not to do activities that make you sweat a lot, so as to keep a little Yang energy in reserve.

Do not needlessly stir up the mind or disturb the Spirit (the Shen): choose the information you wish to take in. The Taoists traditionally advise reading poems before going to bed..!
