A few seasonal tips according to Chinese medicine

Springthe Wood movement

Often, as the weather warms up in spring, we feel a surge of energy that lends itself to more vigorous physical exercise. According to Chinese energetics, it is the Wood movement in our body which, like the rising sap, needs to unfold. This rising energy is linked to the energetic sphere of the Liver and the Gallbladder, to which the muscles, the nerves and the tendons notably correspond on the physical level.

This is one of the reasons why, traditionally, the Taoists recommend slowing down physical activity in winter.

Taking up more introspective, “yin” type activities during the cold season allows the body to build up reserves and to be able to accompany this Yang movement that belongs to spring, so as to prevent the risk of sports injuries.
