As I practised Qi Gong more regularly, I began to feel a tingling at my fingertips and a flow through my body that made me want to learn the art of using acupuncture needles.
Through my studies, alongside my professional projects in website design, I gradually changed some of my habits, as well as the way I perceive and understand the world.
And I found my calling!
A big dream come true
In 2012, I went to live in Cambodia for a school year, the country my martial arts teacher's father comes from. I took this incredible opportunity to do a clinical acupuncture internship in Vietnam. Right after, I worked for 6 months in a French medical practice and physical therapy centre in Phnom Penh. It was my first experience as an acupuncturist. I have very fond memories of it.
Acupuncturist in Montreal
Against all odds, I settled in Montreal in the summer of 2014 to complete, over three years, the equivalence of my initial acupuncture training, so that I could register on the Roll of the Ordre des Acupuncteurs du Québec (OAQ) in 2017 and become a member of our professional association (AAQ).
That same year, together with the owners of the new multidisciplinary clinic Action Sport Physio Maisonneuve Rosemont, I created the acupuncture service, to offer treatments to people covered by the CNESST and the SAAQ, and to private clients.
For acupuncture that is social and rooted in solidarity
Starting in 2017, I have actively supported the social and solidarity acupuncture movement in Quebec. For several years, I was a member of the Social Acupuncture Committee of our professional association (AAQ) and supervised the TACT student anti-stress clinic at Cégep Rosemont.
In 2023, I co-founded one of the first social acupuncture clinics in a community setting in Montreal.
Since then, I occasionally fill in as a solidarity acupuncturist, offering NADA treatments at places such as the Centre du Soir Denise Massé, the addiction department of the CHUM, or Cactus downtown.
