As I often say, I don't have a magic wand to help you quit smoking..!
But I can walk with you through this life transition..!
Working on the physical, mental and emotional levels at once, Balance System Acupuncture helps reduce the signs and symptoms of withdrawal, such as irritability, muscle tension or insomnia, by unblocking the energy channels of the Liver and the Gallbladder.
From an energetic point of view, the act of inhaling and exhaling tobacco smoke is linked to the “Door of the Lung” (the nose) and the mouth. By balancing the Stomach and Large Intestine meridians, Balance System Acupuncture can also help reduce the taste for cigarettes and make their smell unpleasant.
According to the cycle of the 5 Movements in Nature (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), the energy of the Lung corresponds to the Metal movement and to the energy of autumn. Activating it helps regulate respiratory functions, especially in the case of a chronic smoker's cough.
Acupuncture can support the decision to quit by stimulating the cutting Energy that belongs to the qualities of the Metal movement. Because what is often at stake when quitting smoking, beyond the addiction itself, is having to give up a habit rooted in your daily life, like a ritual with coffee and/or a social pleasure.
By activating the body's self-regulating abilities, acupuncture supports the “detox” process of body and Spirit. For this, I use in particular the NADA ear protocol (National Association for Detox Acupuncture), which stimulates the vagus nerve.
I often suggest a visualization technique that comes from my Qi Gong practice to accompany this process of letting go, and I invite you to make this tool your own, to better manage the urge to smoke when it comes up and keep your original goal in sight.
Quitting smoking with acupuncture comes down to a personalized approach that supports you physically, mentally and emotionally!
